For some reason the "You sexy thing!" song is running through my head...
A bookstore friend gave me Paranormalcy's stand when they were done with it, so imagine my delight when I got a strangely shaped package from Christina, my fabulous marketing...hmm. Not sure what her actual title is. So I'm declaring her my fabulous Marketing Goddess. There was some shrieking, and some giddy laughing.
Tell me about it, Evie. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say it's bleeping overrated.
A lot of my publishing journey has exceeded my expectations. These gorgeous stands that will go up in bookstores? Pretty much the physical manifestation of my wildest dreams. That's why I keep them in my office. They're a reminder of how lucky I am. That, and they are PRETTY SO PRETTY.
But Editor Erica (hmmm, she's a senior editor officially, but I think she needs a new title, too. How about, Empress Editor Erica? Then we've got the whole alliteration thing going, and I always adore alliteration) had something for me, too. The paperback of Paranormalcy! And now we're singing "Paperback writer." My house is filled with song today thanks to HarperTeen.
But oh! What's that? In the back of the paperback? Why yes, yes it is:

Both the paperback and Supernaturally will be on sale on the 26th. In the meantime, I'll be dancing around my house, singing songs of varying level of appropriateness for small ears, and marveling that this crazy dream of mine keeps coming true, and, best of all, so many incredible teens and adults join it by reading.

Love those stands!! I asked at my local bookstore if I could have their stand for Mockingjay when they were done with it, and they said yes so now it sits in my bedroom with all my favourite books! I love the colours. :)

Life is hectic! But I'm on my way to San Diego tomorrow and guess what?!?!?! I HAVE THE ARC OF SUPERNATURALLY!!! BTW, when I worked at a florist one of the favorite arrangements was red roses with pink carnations. Didn't do much for me but a lot of people liked it.
When I read "PRETTY SO PRETTY" what popped into my head was Westside Story's "I feel pretty, oh so, pretty." I think that song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day, and I may or may not always associate that song with Supernaturally/Paranormalacy now! :)
Maybe Para3 will be purple. Then you can have a whole chromatic rainbowfest in the corner. :)
btdubs: Pink and red SOOO go together. People say it clashes when red heads wear pink, but I find it adorable. ESPECIALLY when they have freckles. SO CUTE.
