So, Yeah

Remember that time I wrote a book in nine days?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Ahem. Sorry. But seriously.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

It's about sisters, and impossible choices, and guilt, and kisses like lies, and eyes and hands, and manipulation, and love.

It's a different framework than I've ever used before, alternating first person POVs between two sisters, and alternating between the present and the past that got them there. It's darker and bleaker than any of my other writing, and it's shorter, too. It doesn't have magic or creatures but it does have a girl who can see nothing but the future and a girl who has to always make the right wrong choices to protect them both.

I love it so, so much.

And I am so freaking tired.

Wow. Forget that 3 week thing. 9 days. I bow down.

Sweet. I did 20k words in 4 hrs once... but never again. 9 days is way fast. Gratz! Now if only publishing was faster. =)

Your tiredness does not sound awesome, but that book thing does.

You rock!

Wow, congratulations!

*whistles* That's impressive! Wow!

Now go get some sleep! ^_^

If you're anything like me, you'll like it even more after you let it sit a day or two and come back to it to edit. My quickly-written works happen to end up that way…

Though I've never written 50k words that quickly!

Wow, that's incredible. Just incredible.

I think you definitely earned some sleep...and a high five! *high five* haha

Congrats Kiersten, and I look forward to hearing more about this unnamed, but awesome sounding, story! :D

Good gracious! Did you sleep at all? (I mean, congrats and everything, but...holy moly.)

Amazing! You make me feel lazy, since I only have four chapters of my novel written. But good for you, Kiersten! Hope we'll get to see the results!

Why is everyone so surprised? Don't they know you??

How much Dr. Pepper was consumed in the making of this novel? I'm guessing a lot. :P

Tracey Neithercott said...

Wow, 9 days. And I thought you wrote Paranormalcy quickly! My prediction for your next novel: 3.5 days.

Debra Lynn Lazar said...

Good for you. Not surprised. ;-)

When you come back from your coma, I'd love to hear how you did it. As in, was it just one of those stories you started and it just went through to the end, or did you do some plotting and have a good idea of the story before you sat down.

Either way, congrats! That's an amazing endeavor.

"Michelle Wolfson said . . . Why is everyone so surprised? Don't they know you??"

What she said.

Which doesn't mean I'm still not simultaneously swooning in awe and sobbing with jealousy. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

That's insane, congrats! It sounds amazing, hopefully we'll be able to read it in the near future :)

Nine days? That's nuts! But awesome. I wish I could write that fast. Or just have enough time to even attempt it.

Sounds awesome too! Can't wait to read it.

I'm impressed. But not surprised. I would love to know the title of this masterpiece, that and PARANORMALCY BOOK 3, so I know what to preorder :)

So...is that gem gonna be published?

Congratulations! You've just inspired me to get my butt moving and do 15k in 9 days and finish up my first draft.

Oh my gosh! That is so amazing! I can't believe you wrote a book in just nine days. That is so awesome.

You also are probably ready to drop from exhaustion. I wish there was some way to give you more time to relax or make your job easier. I suppose the best part was working on a story you loved. Which is good. :D

Impressive, most impressive, but you are not a Jedi yet. OK, so really that earns you an honorary Jedi title.

Congrats! I hope you're sleeping right now.

That is freaking amazing! Are your eyeballs bleeding?

Kiersten White said...

Heh. Heh. Actually, I am celebrating by editing. Because that's how I roll, as Michelle pointed out.

You are completely out of your gourd, woman.

I... like your style.

AWESOME!

Rue Davis said...

Okay, I have to know: what do your children do during all this? Because if that were me, mine would be going bonkers. I have trouble balancing writing and mommying. What's your secret?

Whirlochre said...

Never mind the eyeballs — what about the eyebags?

Just watch you don't step on them while you're editing.

Wow. Just wow. Any book I wrote in nine days would look like the result of monkeys taking over my computer. I'm seriously impressed. Congrats!

I'm amazed, very jealous and just a little bit scared. Kirsten, you rule. You're the queen of Britannia, or something equally grand. I, however, will stay in my crofter's hut forever, as the little folk do.

Woah. That was quick. 0.o

Celebrations for that awesomeness must be in order.

Nine days? Really? Impressive. At least you like it though. Usually what I write too quickly, I come to abhor.

Can't wait to hear more about it :)

Angela Felsted said...

All I can say is wow! Nine days, 50K -- honey, no wonder you're tired!

Casey (The Bookish Type) said...

This sound so amazing...I can't even...just...wow. Congrats, Kiersten!

Amber said...

You realise this means you could, in theory, do NaNoWriMo in 1/3 the time and spend the rest of November laughing at us pathetic, struggling souls?

erica and christy said...

I could never make that happen. But I still printed it out and hung it on top of my writing space. :)
