But first, the super cute book trailer. I have no idea what any of it is saying, but I can still appreciate the cute!
Love! So simple and playful and fun.
And here is a shot from their catalog:
The front page for the Children/Teens section. SO CUTE, RIGHT??
And here's the cover in all its very pink glory:
They even got her boots!
So, huzzah for awesome Loewe! Inside the book they have all sorts of fun flourishes and details on the chapter headings. The whole thing is gorgeous and I'm so excited that Evie is in Germany in high style!

Lovely cover and Trailer. Although, I couldn't understand it.
Wow! It's very pretty, different and unique. If you didn't mention it...I wouldn't know that it was the foreign cover to Paranormalcy. Very different and pretty indeed!
-Mocha from A Cupcake and A Latte: YA Reads, Reviews & More!.
Love the cover and the trailer! Can't wait to see it in my local bookstore. I already have the US version on my shelf but maybe I should get the German version too.
And here's the translation (I'm German):
They aren't what they seem to be
They are among us
Only you can identify them
and you're falling in love with one of them
Better live paranormal
HappyBirthday!!!
Cute :)
Thanks, Susanne!!
And thanks, Dad : )
Yes, thanks for the translation. My German has gone downhill big time. I could only remember about half the words =), you know, the little ones. LOL.
This is very cute!
Is it your birthday?!? Happy birthday!
And I too find this uber pink trailer very snazzy and cute. Congrats!
I love it! I wish I knew what those words said, but even without speaking German I know it's so fun!
And Happy Birthday!!
Totally cute. I like the kissing silhouettes.
I work in a bookstore in Germany and when I saw the ARC of Flames'n'Roses, at first I didn't realize it's the German version of Paranormalcy. But then I recognized your name, Kiersten.
Can't wait for it to be released. I want to guide all our teenage customers to this awesomeness of a book.
And happy birthday! :)
That cover is made of awesome! Ehrlich! Und das Video ist voll Suess! (Sorry, I couldn't resist some German. I'm married to a German and lived in Austria for 18 months.)
Happy Birthday. And the trailer is very light and fun. Do you know why they chose to go with the title Flames and Roses? The pink shoes are definitely a good match for Evie.
Oh, i'm tempted to buy the book purely to look at that cover every day. :P
Now i just have to learn some German...
Happy Birthday Kiersten! 21 Again! :P
That was cute... nothing I would have expected, or imagined... but very cute.
Thanks Suzanne, for translating from the German ;)
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I am most definitely 28. I've earned it.
I'm curious why the title is in English?
Happy Birthday! Today is also my sister's birthday, tomorrow my husband's. Geminis FTW!
My German isn't too good so thank goodness for Susanne Winnacker.
I had it down as
Hot dinkiness!!
And a Gallic lycanthrope!
Hey! Let's windsurf!
(didn't quite get that reference)
You should/must/will buy!
I think the subtitle IS Hey! Let's Windsurf!
Liz, they wanted to keep an English title, so they picked a playful, flirty one with recognizable words.
WOW! It looks so cute and girly, and totally different compared to the darker (but still gorgeous) cover for the US one. I love seeing the different foreign covers and how tastes vary! :)
Nice cover! :-)
It seems to be common at the moment to give German translations English titles. For example, Sara Zarr's "Sweethearts" is "Long-lost Friend" and Sarah Dessen's "Lock and Key" is "About Ruby". Personally I find it confusing to have an English title on a German book, but I suppose they sell better. Which is obviously not a bad thing. ;-)
Yeah, it's not just the Germans. Norwegian publishers and distributors used to do it, too. Remember the movie Gleaming the Cube with Christian Slater? In Norway: Skate or Die! There's less of it these days, though, I guess because with the internet, movie buzz is so much more international.
Flames 'n' roses works, though. But I'm pretty sure the German kids would have got Paranormalcy.
So pretty! Love it!
Would you be angry if I said I prefered this. Not that there's anything wrong with the orig, but have you seen this???
Plus FLAMES N' ROSES is Hawt!
Happy birthday! And what a great present--to get yet another great cover for your book!
So adorable!
Happy Birthday, Kiersten!
Germans do it very often, instead of translating the title of a movie or a book to GERMAN, they find another title in ENGLISH! I must say I don't like it. At all. It gives false information. When I saw this trailer I thought you published another book ;<
Paranormalcy as a title in the German translation book would just do fine, since the word Paranomal exist in German too. Instead, Flames n Roses! What does one have to do with the other one?
I hope it won't effect your sales negatively.

I am not sure if it's weird to post this here....but I don't know how else to contact you. My group on Goodreads has picked Paranormalcy for our book club pick for June. Would you be willing to do a Q&A with the group? here is the book club link:

Let me know by contacting me through goodreads. Hope you'll stop by!
