Titles and Trailers and...Some Other Third Thing that Starts with T

I was trying to think of some clever preamble, but really, JUST WATCH:

The awesomeness! The awesomeness! And I can say that without being arrogant because I had nothing to do with this video (other than writing the book, of course). It was all the genius team at HarperTeen!

I'll wait while you watch it again.

And now you take a turn waiting while I watch it again.

Wasn't that fun? Gosh, how cool is my life? Don't answer that. It was rhetorical. But if it weren't rhetorical, we would hold hands and jump up and down shrieking, "OH MY GOSH SO COOL AAAAAAAAAAAH!" and it would scare the children, which is why we will leave it as a rhetorical question.

In other OH MY GOSH SO COOL AAAAAAAAAAH news, remember that book that comes after Paranormalcy? The one I've been ever-so-cleverly referring to as The Sequel?

It has a title.

I give you:

SUPERNATURALLY

Life's never fair when faeries are involved. Coming in Fall 2011!

Okay, screw rhetorical answers and please jump up and down with me! For some reason having an Official Title makes it feel so much more real than it was before. I'd like to thank Editor Extraordinaire Erica and also my fabulous design team, as this was very much a joint effort. My last edit of Supernaturally (AH! I don't have to call it The Sequel anymore!) had an old title with a subtitle of "Or some other, better title" beneath. Thank heavens we can now take that off.

And a huge bonus: since my titles are, well, LONG, I often refer to Paranormalcy as Para. Which means Supernaturally will be shortened to Super. Which will be very good for my self-esteem to constantly refer to my book as Super.

So, I hope you have a SUPER DAY. And that you don't feel too awkward now that we've held hands and jumped up and down screaming together.

YAY! Congrats! I'm jumping up and down in my office squealing for you right now.

Noooo!!! I'm currently on a network that block all videos, and I can't see the trailer! Noooo! (Curse you, school-provided Internet!)

Guess I'll just have to watch it when I head to the library later. Love the title, though! :)

(Although I still like my suggestion from yesterday--Paramid lends itself to all sorts of Egyptian fun.)

That was awesome! The artwork was fantastic - I love it! SOOOO looking forward to reading your book, even if I did buy it before I saw that ridiculously fabulous trailer. :)

And Oh Boy...what an awesome trailer!

What a great book trailer. I can't wait to get my hands on this book! :)
Also, congrats on the sequel. Sounds like it's exciting news all around.

Oh my gosh, you're hysterical!

But yes, that's a great trailer, and those are some amazing quotes, too!

And a great second title. Paranormalcy is such a great title that I was wondering what in the world you'd be able to follow it up with! Supernaturally isn't quite as good ('cause I like that Parnormalcy is a made-up word)...but it's still really, really good. :-)

Congratulations!

Woot! Supernaturally is pretty super, though, in my opinion.

And that trailer? HI. I've watched it like 20 times.

Kristan said...

So fun!! I am totally jumping up and down. Which the people on the floor below me probably don't appreciate... Ah well, I can blame you, no worries. :D

Yay! Awesome trailer and awesome title. :)

Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *jumps up and down with Kiersten* OMG that is so SUPER! I am so happy for you! I can’t wait!

And a title for The Sequel! Yay!

How did you manage to write a stand alone novel that wrapped up all the threads, and yet leave room for another book? I am working on my book’s ending and I can’t seem to find a happy medium between wrapping everything up in case the publishers don’t want a sequel, but leaving some things open in case they do. *headdesk* What did you do for Para? *cough* Maybe you could do a blog post about it…

Now I have a book trailer to watch again…

Kiersten White said...

Yay! Thank you all SO MUCH for being excited and jumping up and down : ) That makes this all even more fun!

Kathleen--Paranormalcy was an IMPOSSIBLE title to follow up! Last time I make up a clever word for a title...but I'm really happy with Supernaturally--I think it has the same feel : )

Elizabeth--Noted. Good idea!

Jen Sharp said...

Wow, Kiersten!! You must be so thrilled! I can't WAIT for this book to come out!

How cool is that! When I played the trailer, my 21-month-old could hear the music and she came over to watch and dance. :)

I don't normally read YA or paranormal, but I think I'll be picking your book up!

Congratulations!

RATS! I thought of this one yesterday when we were playing #notmysequel and quit before I played it. Who knew it was THE trump?

Congrats!

Cara said...

I must've watched this trailer ten times already. I also clapped my hands and made some type of high-pitched squeeing noise while I watched. All because I can't wait to read your book and this trailer reminds me that it's coming!!

Valerie said...

Will you let me be extra excited because you revealed this on my birthday? Thank you.
The trailer looks awesome. I love the transitions. Also, congratulations on having an Official Title! Now we're all expecting it to be SUPER, of course.

Jade said...

I LOVE the title and the trailer. I'd jump up and down but I'm huddled under a blanket trying not to freeze to death. You won't mind if I hold off on the physical excitement until spring?

Great trailer and I cannot wait for Supernaturally!

Amanda J. said...

SQUEEEE!!!! AHH that was SO good! And also, EXCITED, EXCITED!!

Katrina L. Lantz said...

Awww, moms rock.

That was amazing! Can't wait to share it on facebook. Lazy ppl who haven't clicked on all my links to your blog will FINALLY know (some) what I'm screaming about!

Thanks for the fake title fun on twitter yesterday, too. It's so fun to make up fake titles for other people's books rather than actually writing my own unpublishable stuff. :-)

Sequel three should be Parasciency. Hee hee. Still having fun with it!

Myrna Foster said...

I love that your book is Super. with a capital S. :o)

Jordan McCollum said...

Very awesome on both counts! Congratulations!

Stephanie McGee said...

Vicki Rocho said...

Is it surreal reading all the blurbs about your book?

Seriously, I can't wait.

Whirlochre said...

Google ate my comment, so I'm provided with an opportunity to re-enthuse.

Aren't those people at harperteen clever?

And your dust jacket will look like a who's who of anyone who's someone.

On a personal note, as a result of this news, I have now graduated to a level 3 wooter.

jessicashea said...

Ooh, that's one shiny trailer! I love the pink words in the blurbs. And congrats on Supernaturally!
