My kids are eating cake for breakfast. Surprisingly enough, this is not to celebrate my Mother of the Year award (which is STILL lost in the mail), but rather the Week of Birthdays.
Which includes mine.
Yay.
Is it just me, or does twenty-seven sound a lot older than twenty-six? Ah well. Time marches forward, and it's all good.
In fact, it's better than good...it's awesome. For you, too. Because in honor of my birthday, I thought I'd give something to you! Well, one of you. The rest are out of luck. So in reality, for 99% of you my birthday totally sucks.
(You can come over and have cake for breakfast to console your broken hearts if you want. As long as you find my Mother of the Year award and bring it to me.)
Yup. I'm giving away THIS:

Hey, look! An ARC of Paranormalcy! Lucky you*!
And, since it's my birthday and I like getting books, I'm going to throw in something else.
Lips Touch by Laini Taylor. This book is delicious. Laini is an incredible writer--the kind that makes you want to live in her words forever. Yup, that good. It was also a National Book Award Finalist. And did I mention each of the stories revolves around a kiss? Yeah, you totally should have read this one already.
For my first contest I'm keeping it simple. To enter, you must do two things:
First, tell someone about my book and show them the cover. You can do this on Twitter, or facebook, or your blog, but I'm just as happy if you lean over to the kid next to you or to your favorite co-worker and say, "Hey, I'm excited for this book to come out." That's all. And you don't have to film yourself doing it--honor code system. Because if you aren't excited for my book to come out, you probably shouldn't be entering the contest, right? Right.
Second, leave a comment telling me a) you want to win and b) one of your favorite recent reads. Because I suggest Lips Touch, but we can all use more book recommendations!
So, go forth, tell someone, and leave me a comment. Contest ends Sunday, May 30th at midnight, with the winner announced Monday!
(For the record, yes, I will ship internationally. And if you comment anonymously, be sure to leave your name!)
*But only you. The rest of you better get over here before the cake is all gone.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 291 Newer› Newest»Um. I've told pretty much EVERYBODY I've ever met about this book since I found you blog and saw the bits you had shared at the time. Then, when you got the cover, everybody and their brother's sister's second cousin had to hear about it.
That counts right?
Also: I TOTALLY want these books. I had Lips Touch from the library and I read halfway through before they made me give it back. =(
Favorite recent read? Um. OH. I finally read Storm Born by Richelle Mead and I LOVED it. I am now determined to get the rest of the books. :)
First off, I love the paragraph above about commenting. SO TRUE! Second, I just told a co-worker about Paranormalcy and and I would LOVE to win this ARC. Also, a good recent read of mine was Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson and Leftovers by Laura Weiss.
Here is the link on facebook where I posted the cover of Paranormalcy on Book Club. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=11453555&id=193558430461
I want to win because I want to read your novel and honestly who doesn't like to win free things? Especially ARCs.
My most favorite recent read is an ARC of Nancy Holder's Possessions II: The Evil Within. MUST READ.
oohhh, awkward pauses! I love awkward pauses. I'm the queen of awkward pauses. OK on to the business at hand.
I WANT TO WIN PARANORMALCY! I just showed it to a group of 6th grade girls. (I'm a teacher so it's not as creepy as it sounds)
My latest favorite read is THE CINDERELLA SOCIETY by Kay Cassidy. My favorite read before that we BEAUTIFUL CREATURES by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
*pause*
Oh, and Happy Birthday. 27 is not old. I'll be 37 this July and it rawks.
I would love to win Paranormalcy. Have heard so many good things about it already!
Just one recent favorite? How about one YA and one Adult? (Even then, hard to choose.) For YA: Dirty Little Secrets by C.J. Omololu. Adult: The Girl She Used to Be by David Cristofano.
a) I totally want to win.
b) (don't laugh) Oliver Twist...followed by a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories.
c) 27 doesn't sound as old as 29, but not even 29 sounds as scary as...*cough*...30. Good thing it isn't September yet, at which point I will become 29 for the REST of my life, muahahaha!
Happy birthday! ;)
I'm very excited for your book! I've actually already pre-ordered, but if I win a copy... hey, that's even better :)
I just finished Finnikin of the Rock and thought it was super.

I shared on facebook. My husband has some teen/tween cousins who I'm certain will LOVE your book. :) I would love to win of course. One my favorite recent reads: "Photo, Snap, Shot" (book 3 in a series) by Joanna Campbell Slan.
I want to win this badly. ACRONYM. HAPPY.
COME ON. You know I love Paranormalcy and you, even before I talked to you. *grin* My undying devotion, right here: https://twitter.com/dy0ulee/status/14630572415
I loved The Demon's Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan. Nick. Wowzers.
I would love to read this. I featured it on a recent WOW, but I did it again.
http://ellzreadz.blogspot.com/2010/05/cant-hardly-wait.html
My recent favorite reads...I have a few...Under My SKin by Judith Graves and the book I am reading right now, Nightshade by Andrea Cremer!
Thanks for the chance to review your book ina advance!
Awesome, thanks for the contest! I WANT TO WIN!!! I actually got my friends & my sister sitting and waiting on your book to come out.
It was way back when Hush Hush first came out and Becca Fitzpatrick tweeted about your book. Then I told my friends & sister about your book. Not to mention we saw you at Lisa McMann's & Becca Fitzpatrick's book signing in San Diego. They've been anxiously waiting ever since!
I also mentioned it to my younger sister, but she's a bit of an air head so it probably went in one ear and out the other.
I recently read the first Percy Jackson book and loved it, although the movie was good the book was way better. I watched the movie first though.
Happy birthday! :) Hope you have a fabulous day, and good cake.
Yes, I would like to win, and if I had to recommend a recent read it would be Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow, because the characterization is so realistic!
I would love to win Paranormalcy, I love the cover and can't wait to read it!
One of my recent favorite books has to be The Iron King/Iron Daughter, I guess that makes two. But I loved it so much and I've been telling everyone about it! =D
Hey there! Ok, so for #1 I just told my friend about Paranormalacy!
For #2...a)I want to win!
b)Two books I've read recently (because I couldn't choose between them) Devil's Kiss by Sarawat Chadda and A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner. Both are fantastic, but if you've not read Megan Whalen Turner..go now and purchase her books. You'll not be disappointed! :-)
I love this contest! I shared the cover and news of your book Paranormalcy on Facebook as well as with my sister and daughter this morning while we discussed new books we wanted to read!
I would love to win this copy of Paranormalcy!
My suggestion for a good book? I'd have to say Dead Is So Last Year by Marlene Perez. It is actually the third in the series-two more are forthcoming-and they have all been great reads!
I never win these things, but I just had to try. I sooo want to win an ARC of Paranormalcy - I've been posting your cover on friends' FB pages for weeks. And the book pubs the day after MY birthday - so we're kinda connected (yeah, except I'm a lot older than you).
Okay, on to business. I'm currently reading The sky is everywhere by Jandy Nelson and it makes me tear up frequently and just fills me with emotion. I also read recently and loved Lisa McMann's Wake.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Does it count that I've already told like, everyone I know about PARANORMALCY? AND shown them your awesome cover?
If so, then yeah, duh, I want to win. :)
My recent favorite reads? Uh, this could go on for a while... HEX HALL was pretty good, so were THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH and THE DEAD-TOSSED WAVES (yes, I know I'm behind on those). THE BODY FINDER was a pretty good thrill, too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Which is not the title of a specific book I've read, just well wishes for your 27th year. :)
Just turned 29 myself! So no worries.
I posted about this over at my book blog, AND loved Lips Touch! It was gorgeous. Personally my most recent favorite read was Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot.
I just told my co-worker how psyched I am about PARANORMALCY. Promise! She and I have traded paranormal YA books before (in fact, I just loaned her SHIVER today) so she didn't think I was totally crazy. ;)
I read BEL CANTO by Ann Patchett recently, and 3 mediocre books later, it's still haunting me. Yum.
Kiersten - I have already shown at least 5 people your book and told them how much I want to read it! And the book I'm reading right now is totally awesome: The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Love it.
I notified a friend/awesome aspiring author about Paranormalcy.
I really want to win Paranormalcy, especially since you told me there is no deal for Holland yet.
I haven't had time to read a lot recently, but a series that I just finished rereading is the Artemis Fowl series, which is just plain awesome and has lots of funny bits as well.
I can't wait for your book to come out and would LOVE to read an ARC before September 21st.
And I recomend SOULLESS and CHANGELESS both by Gail Carriger.
I want to win Parnormalcy because, well, it sounds freaking awesome. That is usually why I want to read a book. :)
I have told my fellow book addict friends who don't blog about Parnormalcy. All I have to do is show someone a pic of the cover, and they are gamed.
I recently read Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien and was blown away. It was a really good read that I love to pimp out now.
jayliv0609@gmail.com
Thanks for the great contest! I so hope I win...I've been looking forward to September, so getting it early would be awesome!
And I've had the countdown widget on my blog for a while now, so does that count as telling someone? If not I'll climb the nearest tower and shout it out to the people of the city!
I just finished Hush, Hush and I loved it...LOVED IT!
And I hope your 27th Birthday far outweighs your 26th on the good time scale!
Pick Me Pick Me!!! I want to win!!! I like winning AND it was just my birthday a couple weeks ago. So I TOTALLY deserve it.
So Um...I told my son about your book? Does that count? No? Ok well I'm going to tweet this too then.
I'm currently reading Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I'm so happy all the season finales are past cuz now I can dedicate my evenings to it (And your book as soon as you send it to me!!!)
I tweeted! And I wanna win.
I recommend David Eagleman's Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives because it is the most amazing thing I've read in a long, long time.
Just put a status up on facebook telling how excited I am.
Recent reads? Well for YA I'll pick Claire de Lune. I finished it last night and it was wonderful. For the adult crowd I pick The Child Thief by Brom because that was super good too!
Would I like to win? YES! Duh! Lolz. Paranormalcy sounds AMAZING and the cover is drool worthy! My pimpage is here!
http://findabookmark.blogspot.com/2010/05/paranormalcy-contest.html
Hmm one of my favorite recent reads... this is difficult. I would have to say WWW: Wake by Robert Sawyer. Excellent book and the coolest sci-fi ever! ^.^
I have already told everyone about Paranormalcy and I plan to blog about it this week. I am extremely excited about it and I want to WIN. I do.
I have read so many good books lately but I would have to say my favorite is The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting.
want to win this book..Happy Bithday to to you and its okay to feed cake to kids.
I recommend Birthmarked--awesome book by another debut author.
Happy Birthday! Can I just say that I love your reverse gift giving? I would love to win an ARC! Some of my favorite recent reads are An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, and Gone by Michael Grant.
I tweeted because 9/21 cannot come soon enough!
http://twitter.com/wicked_walker/status/14632813846
and YES I would like to enter!
I recently read The Ghost and the Goth, it was a totally fun book :)
booknerdd(at)gmail(dot)com
You didn't even have to ask. I've already told my family about the book, and I showed my sister the cover days ago. Of course I want to win, if it means winning your book. Then I wouldn't have to wait until September. And my favorite recent read is Heist Society by Ally Carter, although I'm partway through Spells which I am enjoying a lot as well. And don't think of it as cake. And cake for breakfast sounds awesome.
I told my sister about it and she's as thrilled as I am!
And of course I'd love to win Paranormalcy because it just sounds like it will be made of awesomeness :)
Other books that are awesome: Cindy Pon's Silver Phoenix and the one I'm currently readin, Juliet Marillier's Wildwood Dancing. Highly recommended!
SQUEE! I tell everyone I want to read Paranormalcy. I even did a WoW like a month ago:
http://addicted2novels.blogspot.com/2010/03/waiting-on-wednesday-14.html
I had some of my friends add it to their goodreads/TBR list.
AHHH! I want to win SO bad. I would sacrifice chickens to win.
Anywho, my favorite book I've read this year is a book that isn't even out yet (Nightshade by Andrea Cremer). But, as far as books that are out, mmm...I'm going to go with The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting.
*crosses fingers*
Thanks for hosting this!!
addicted2novels(at)gmail(dot)com
Oh, oh! I want to win! *jumps up and down* Okay, that's not as cute if you're my age. I'll stop.
I showed the cover to my sister, who teaches 9th grade English. I may have also promised to buy her classroom a copy when the book comes out. *looks shifty* Yeah, I guess that was me...
And...one of my favorite recent reads was I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak. Seriously good book. Gritty, entertaining, off-the-wall, learn-about-life sort of book.
Thanks for the chance to win an ARC!
celialarsen(at)gmail(dot)com
Okay...I see these contests all the time but never usually participate because, well, because I'm a pessimist and figure I won't win anyways. However, I might as well try, because I WANT TO WIN PARANORMALCY! Desperately. It would make me so very happy.
As for my recent read, I've actually been doing a lot of picking-up-my-favorite-books-off-my-shelf-for-a-re-read reads lately, and I just finished Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness Quartet for like the third time. I love those books.
Please enter me. I tweeted on Twitter - KrysteyBelle.
And my favorite recent read was The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan
I showed my mom, sisters, brother and his girlfriend, and our whole book club, and my bunko group, and facebook. Can I get multiple entries? I can't wait to read your book! I've been listening to the "Peter and the Starcatchers" series lately, narrated by Jim Dale. Awesome books, but I'd listen to them even if they weren't, because Jim Dale is awesome, and I'd listen to him read the phone book.
Great contest! I'll have to post about it on my blog this week!
I can't wait to read Paranormalcy, and Lips Touch looks awesome.
I can't even think of the last new book I read...I guess I better get to the bookstore!
I WANT TO WIN!!!! *chomps at the bit*
And if you think 27 is old...I'm 28, and that is WAY older. Ancient. So old that I spent a significant amount of time recently thinking I was 29 because I forgot my age. Yanno, like old people do.
My most recent read? WHEN YOU REACH ME by Rebecca Stead. I think I'm the last person on Earth to read it, but it was seriously good.
ALSO: I Buzzed about this and will Facebook when I get home!
I would like to win.
I shared the contest:
http://twitter.com/eheinlen/statuses/14633712099
I most recently read the first book in the Oliver Nocturne series.
treerose AT yahoo DOT com
Ack! Save me some cake! (Because honestly? Me winning a contest? Never happens.) Do you think it will last until July? I'll be there in July! :)
But I still want to be considered of course! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) And I already qualify! I've been showing your cover and talking about your book for months now. (So what that I usually only talk to my family...)
Happy happy happy birthday tomorrow! :) I was thinking of you this morning as I looked at the snow (yes, snow!) and thought, "I'll bet she's glad to live in San Diego this year, because who wants a snowy birthday in MAY?" Love you tons!
Ooh, exciting!
I've already showed your book cover to my boyfriend and my sister, but I showed it to my mom this morning. She says to tell you she loves the dress, haha.
Best book I've read lately is Liar by Justine Larbalestier - I know I'm late on the Liar train, but whoa, that book is intense. I started it yesterday and couldn't sleep until I'd finished.
Such a fun idea for this contest, boy you're going to have a lot of comments to read through! I've posted the Paranormalcy cover and link to the contest on my Seeing Angels FB fan page.
Who wouldn't love to win an ARC of this book! One of the most enjoyable books I've read recently is "Eyes Like Stars" by Lisa Mantchev. Thanks again for the contest! Karen Talnagi
Woohoo! Geminis rock! I'm June 10th and I'm also doing a giveaway for my birthday, and guess what one of the prizes is? A pre-order of Paranormalcy!
But don't let that confuse you, I still want to win!
My most favorite recent read is BEFORE I FALL by Lauren Oliver. SO good!
Oh, I would like to enter!! And I have shared with everyone I know, silly. How could I not?
My book recommendation would be The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. It also involves lots of kissing. :P
Um, as someone who's 28 I resent the implication that 27 is old. :) (Though I totally know what you mean)
And I definitely want to win Paranormalcy. You'll see my tweet with your twitter name in there spreading the word, and I just finished The Body Finder by Kim Derting--and LOVED it.
Thanks so much for the contest!
I've been waiting for Paranormalcy to come out! And already told several people about its awesomeness, even though I haven't read it yet.
Best book I've read this year, hands down Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves. Not for the faint-hearted, so also suggest Lament by Maggie Stiefvater and Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr.
I tweeted! https://twitter.com/princessbookie8/status/14635476801
I really want to read this book, so excited! My most favorite read is Forget You by Jennifer Echols, its an amazing book, it is so addicting once you begin to read!

I want to win Paranormalcy! ( 'course I do)
I added this to our library's To Stock Pile so hopefully when it comes out in the UK more will get a chance to read it!
One of my fave recent reads is Generation Dead by Daniel Waters. Made me feel and think so much.
:)
Look at all the excitement!
Happy birthday, too. 27 sounds like a good number. :)
I told my husband, and my two closest friends about Paranormalcy. The cover is fantastic, and it sounds like a galloping good time. Plus, the author is so freaking endearing! Bonus!
For recent reads: I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells. Came out not too long ago. Love it. Plus The Hunger Games, If I Stay (wow), and anything by Francesca Lia Block.
I posted your book on my Wishlist Wednesday post because I saw it on another blog and I was smitten! After I read the synopsis I thought, I NEED to read this book! :D
My favorite book I've read lately (and yes I know I'm late to the party) was Shiver! Loved it!
roses7184(at)gmail(dot)com
I actually posted your countdown to Paranormalcy on my blog where I declared my excitement over the impending release.
Best book I read recently- If I Stay. It. Is. Amazing.
And yes, I want to win!
I CANNOT wait for Paranormalcy! I shared it on FB.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=4081517&id=513560826&comments&ref=mf
Lips Touch is a fantastic book and I'm always recommending it too. Laini Taylor has a unique voice and beautiful writing style. This is a book I've been wishing I own.
Thanks for the giveaway!
candace_redinger(at)yahoo(dot)com
You are SO easy to brag about.
"Yeah, I'm blogger-buddies with Kiersten White. You know. Author of PARANORMALCY. *sniffs* *flicks debris off shoulder* No big deal or anything."
Favorite recent book: I'm 3/4 of the way through IF I STAY, which is so heartbreakingly heartbreaking I've been putting off reading it. So. Sad.
I've told three co-workers that love paranormal YA about your book already! Hmmm...great recent reads...Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor, The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, Will Grayson Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, and Going Bovine by Libba Bray!
Jessica M.
ireadtorelax@yahoo.com
I showed your cover to a book loving coworker here and she said "That is quite possibly the best teen book cover I have ever seen," then she like pestered me about what the book is about and I said "some girl with a pink taser" and she was like Oooooo and I was like Ooooo and we both looked at you cover again and we were both Oooooo-ing together.
Please send me the ARC so I can continue to OOooooo and taunt the Spousal Unit with it (technically, she has claimed the Amazon pre-order).
My last read was a re-read of Martin's A Storm of Swords.
The things that Martin sneaks into his books makes him one of the best world builders, ever. If you pay attention to the setting, which is hard because of his expert character voicing, you are rewarded with a world that comes alive and is inspiring to any fantasy author.
I definitely want to win. I've told pratically everyone I know about PARANORMALCY, including an agent from Andrea Brown I met at a conference. Something I recently finished that was amazing was Lauren Willig's THE BETRAYAL OF THE BLOOD LILY. It's the most recent of her historical/romance/spy thriller PINK CARNATION series.
I've been wanting to read your book for sometime now. It sounds so great. I was planning on posting your book this week. I'll also mention it to my little brothers current gf, who thankfully also happens to be a bookworm like me. Lips Touch also sounds like a really great book. I'll have my fingers crossed.
A book I really enjoyed that I read recently is Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I also really liked Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'brien.
Thanks for the contest!
Whoo-hoo for Paranormalcy! Will update Facebook status accordingly. :) Favorite recent read... Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Magical. :)
I told my friend Ashley, and showed the cover! :)
I'd love to win!
My recent favorite read was Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins.
Travis
spongyman1026@yahoo.com
Oh happiness! I've told pretty much everyone I know who can read about your book. Recent good read: Richard Scary's Big Book of Words pub 1963. Creamie loves it and will spend 45 minutes with this book twice a day. That makes me happy! But seriously, time for some new reads, like uh these ones. :o)
I just made my sis come over and I told her "I'm really excited for this book! Look at the amazing cover!!" And then I told her what it was about, and she said that that was her idea for a book. I told her that it was totally different from her book, and it is.
Latest book rec? Hm...Restoring Harmony was pretty darn awesome. As was Mistwood.
shutupjessicasreading @ gmaildotcom
Aaah I want to win this so bad!
Here is my tweet. DYING! https://twitter.com/lizwrites/status/14638875573
And the book I recommend is Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken! I just finished it and fell in love with the two main characters, Syd and North, at the same time they were falling in love. Plus she is another debut author!
P.S. Why is Amazon so slow putting your cover up? They need to get their act together!
I told the person next to me and showed her the picture. Her eyes got big and she said, "Oooo, oooo, ooooo." I totally want this. I've been dying to read it ever since I heard your premise.
27. Ah, to be young again. I just had another birthday and well, let's just say I'm a few years older--as in quite a few. Isn't May the best birthday month?
As for a good book I've read recently: Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld.
Love the title... I know, I know, we're not supposed to judge books by titles, but this is the coolest title ever.
I've linked to it on Facebook.
Recommendation: Jeff Somers. Follow him on twitter @jeffreysomers.
I've read books 1, 2 and 3 of his Avery Cates series and they were beyond amazing. I put down book 3 last night depressed because I will never, not even in a dream, be capable of writing this well.
I WANT A COPY! Also, you are cool because you eat cake for breakfast. It's a family tradition at my house to eat birthday cake for breakfast.
I tell every body who asks for a good book to read to watch for yours this fall.
I'm currently reading a series by Michael Scott, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. It's an entertaining read.
Well,I told my sister about the book and everyone at my twitter too!I'm crazy to read this book,it'll be realesed here in Brazil too,in portuguese, but I can't wait so long,I wanna read it asap!
My favorite read now is "Spirit Bound" by Richelle Mead, actually I haven't finished the book yet,but it's so good I just have to recommend it to everyone,so the Vampire Academy serie is a must read, just like "Paranormalcy"!!!
I really want to read Paranormalcy! The women I work with were just peeking over my shoulder at the cover. Does that count? I'll post it to my Twitter too.
As for recent reads, I LOVED The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen.
Happy Birthday! Twenty-seven sounds a lot younger than me.
I've been squeeing to like-minded folk about how excited I am for this book to come out for some time now and will continue to do so for quite some time to come. Pick me, pick me!
I think my favorite new discovery was "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" by Winnifred Watson (I believe). Lovely, frothy, and includes an impassioned speech about the relative merits of fish vs. ice cream (fish has phosphorous, you know). What's not to love?
Well there's no one sitting around me right now to show (yep, a lone writer), so I will Twitter it. Oh and those two books you have up there--both TOTALLY on my list. I would love to get my hands on yours (I already told you the scarlett johannsen look-a-like on your cover is gorgeous)! And if I was in the subway in NY that one day...
What good books have I read? Hmm.. well on my blog today I talk about how Some Girls Are and Before I Fall were mean girl books that sucked me right in!
Is this contest retroactive because 2 days ago I told a group of teenagers at EFY (I was chaperoning) about your book. These were teenagers who were reading and talking about books and whom I didn't know. They told me some authors they liked and I said I thought they would really like you. They got really excited. In case this doesn't count, I will put your book cover on my blog on Wednesday.
Now, give it to me. :)
All of my online friends already know how much I want this book, but when my brother walked into my room to use my cell, I just showed him this page and told him I'm excited for it. He said "oh-kay, good for you," and walked away. Haha, wish he would've had a more enthusiastic reaction for me to tell, but that's my brother for you.
And if it's not obvious .. I WANT TO WIN. DESPERATELY WANT TO WIN. :)
And a favorite recent read .. definitely Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken. That book is amazing. And Butterfly by Sonya Hartnett (releases in August) is incredible as well!
I WANT TO WIN!!
Um....so I've basically been telling people about Paranormalcy. I even told my mom to order it for the library, as she is the teen services director for our branch. :-) (do I get brownie points for that? hehe)
Ummm book I recommend? Will Grayson, Will Grayson I recently finished and thought it was amazing and hilarious, but I also just finished the 5 book to the Vampire Academy series and I'm dying for the next the book, haha.
But...Paranormalcy and Lips touch would totally sastify me!! :-)
First, I really really want to read Paranormalcy. Second, I think cake was made for breakfast. Third, my birthday is in September, so if I win it's like an early birthday present for me b/c of Paranormalcy's official release date. Fourth, I keep talking about how intrigued I am by what I've heard and seen of your pretty pretty book to everyone I know. Fifth, I love winning. No, seriously.
And the book I read most recently, and yes I realize I'm a billion years behind the times, was Hunger Games. I was trying to hold out until the third book was published, but I finally read the first two last night, and I haven't cried so much in public in a long time. (Did I mention I was just going to tease myself with the first chapter while deciding between Hunger Games and Shiver, and then just ended up sitting down and finishing it at the store? Then I bought book two and zoomed through that at home.) I suppose Shiver will be next weekend's adventure, until Mockingjay comes out. :) But I could certainly use something a touch upbeat, and it sounds like that's something that Evie can totally deliver.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
ElizabethDianna@yahoo.com
I want an ARC of Paranormalcy!! :D
Also I recommend Soulless by Gail Carriger. Love it!
And I've been talking about how I'm looking forward to this book. My excitement is based on how Michelle Wolfe described it once, somewhere. On this blog I think.

I've mentioned you on my blog several times, and I'm always telling my wife about your book (she's a middleschool teacher). She and I are both VERY excited to see your book come out.
And recently I read Soulless by Gail Carriger. AWESOME book! Caught me off guard in a really good way!
Have a wonderful birthday!! Why would I NOT want to win this contest?! Here's my blog post about it, complete with your cover and my cheesy alliteration: http://twaddleoranything.wordpress.com/2010/05/24/a-beloved-bloggers-beautiful-book/
I may be a bit late to the party on this one, but I just read Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush and adored it. I'm now about 70 pages into Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys, which I'm also loving!
I'm back! And since you probably don't know who "I" am I'll just go ahead and tell you that it's me, Freya. ;) lol
Yes, I screamed when I saw this contest too! So as I only found your website/awesome-can't-wait-for-it-to-come-out book yesterday the only people I've shown the cover to is my sister (who thinks it looks awesome too). Does that count? As soon as I see my buddies I'm going to tell them about this too! Hey, I know, I'll email them about it! mwuhahaha, block up their inbox with a REALLY long email about how excited I am! lol
Alright a book I would recommend. Well...hmm...so many books to choose from...I guess I'll do fantasy though since you're writing a fantasy book!
I'm going to tell you about a little book called "Shadow Of The Moon" It's the 4th book in The Dark Guardian series by Rachel Hawthorne but I hadn't read any of the others when I read Shadow of The Moon and I wasn't confused or anything so it stands by itself. I'm going back and reading the rest of the series now and I can say that I think I'll get more out of Shadow Of The Moon this time (yes, I'm reading it again) but it's still awesome on it's own!
I was going to write a little synopsis but I can be a little drawn out, as you're probably starting to notice. So how about I'll just type up the back of the book for you all?
Here goes:
I can feel every Shifter's emotions except Daniel's-the only one whose heart I long to know.
Hayden was born a werewolf, a Dark Guardian. But her ability to sense the feelings of fellow werewolves has made her life unbearable. She runs away, only to be tracked by charming, mysterious Daniel, a newcomer to the pack and the one Shifter immune to her powers. As she reluctantly follows him home, Hayden finds herself falling dangerously in love...
But as even as her feelings for Daniel deepen, Hayden begins to wonder if he is who he claims to be. Where did he come from and why has no one ever seen him transform? When they stumble upon the body of a Shifter, still in wolf form, her worries grow. Someone is killing her kind. Is her handsome tracker really a hunter? And is Hayden now his prey?
I assure you it is just as awesome as it sounds! There's mild language but nothing appalling and no sex or drugs. Very clean, VERY romantic and very awesome!
So did I do this contest thing right???? I hope so. How cool would it be to get to read Paranormalicy EARLY?!?!?!?!?!? :o :D
Yours Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia-ly,
Freya Dark
I just told my mother she loves paranormal anything and we are looking forward to this book.
The book I would like to recommend is Lover Mine by J.R. Ward this book is so good because you feel for all the characters in the story and wish there is more
i hope to win because ever since Becca Fitzpatrick told all of her fans about it at a book signing in Cali the title has always been on my mind plus one of my friends keeps bringing it up and i can't wait to get it in the mail the day it comes out and meet you in person.
Ok, so, like, I tell everyone about your book, and how they should totally give it to me for my birthday. Except it'll come out 33 days after my birthday. (August 19, btw...) I have your countdown widget on my blog. WANT.
Basically, PARANORMALCY and GUARDIAN OF THE GATE by Michelle Zink, the sequel to PROPHESY OF THE SISTERS, are what I'm Most Looking Forward To For My Birthday. (sorry, I'm in a caps mood)
Have I mentioned how I love the PROPHESY series by Michelle Zink, and how it is made of Awesome?
OH! Do you like graphic novels? You should read THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET, by Brian Selznick. It's super sweet, and really awesomely done.
And you can never go wrong with TRICKSTER'S CHOICE and TRICKSTER'S QUEEN by Tamora Pierce.
Try to snag an ARC of PEGASUS by Robin McKinley. I want to read it soooo bad, but I let a friend borrow it.
Same thing with INSATIABLE by Meg Cabot. The trailer is freaking hilarious.
LIAR by Justine Larbalestier will Rock Your Socks Off.
And if you haven't read LEVIATHAN by Scott Westerfeld, you are considered a Bad Person (just kidding! No but seriously, read it).
I also absolutely adore DRAGON SLIPPERS by Jessica Day George. I need to read the sequels, DRAGON FLIGHT and DRAGON SPEAR.
One of my favorites of 2009 was EON: DRAGONEYE REBORN by Alison Goodman. The sequel isn't coming out until 2011, pooey.
I can't wait for ASCENDANT by Diana Peterfreund, the sequel to RAMPANT. Killer Unicorns and love and virginity and Epic Battles mix together to create Awesome Sauce.
SWOON by Nina Malkin was a great read I didn't expect to like as much as I do.
Um... yeah. I've CLEARLY gone Way Too Far with my list. But I loved all of those. I could not give you just one recommendation. Try them ALL. I have a #bookaddiction. My Goodreads TBR pile is not sky high, it's space high.
BUT KNOW THIS. Everything goes on the backburner when I get my hands on PARANORMALCY. Seriously. WANT.
(brittany[at]brittanylandgrebe[dot]com)
Yay! A contest! I wanna win - more than my sis DforDarla.
All of my friends talk about Paranormalcy, we just talk about books that we want to read or books that are coming out and Paranormalcy pops up. We have all heard about your book. Want to read it.
I've recently read Silver Borne (the fifth Mercy Thompson book) by Patricia Briggs. Awesome series - own every book in the series.
Also the Gone series by Michael Grant. There's three books of it out right now (I'm currently on book 3 - Lies) Very dark, lots of bad things happen but I can't put down the book.
Thanks for the contest
- sandyg02
Okay... so you'll have to pardon me, but apparently I'm a little slow. I was checking to make sure I did it right and um...I forgot part of it. :) lol
But first where are my manners? HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And no, 27 isn't old at all. I'm only 15 I know so I might not count 'cause I haven't been that age and all but I WILL be and I don't think it sounds old now either so. :)
So we're supposed to say why we want to win? Well in some ways this seems to be a simple question (we all want to read it!) but I think it's more than that.
When we read a book it takes us into another world, free of the complications of our normal every day life. I just discovered that I have Type 1 diabetes about a year ago and sometimes it's overwhelming, I had the toughest time learning to give myself shots. And it's still not easy, but in this last year and a half I have grown to appreciate books and stories so much more. It's an escape, it's freedom, it's liberating and makes me feel alright again. I think everyone can relate to the peace we feel as we escape our problems and delve into books.
The other reason I want to win your book is because I believe that you're going to open up a whole new world to me, a whole new escape, a new amazing book and I like you as a person from reading your blog and your website. You're funny, honest, nice, and genuinely kind, I have a feeling you brought a lot of these awesome traits into your writing and I'm really REALLY excited and eager to discover it.
So yep, that's why I want to win and again I hope you have an AWESOME birthday! (and the whole cake for breakfast thing? Yep, you definitely earned that award! :D) lol
Yours Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia-ly,
Freya Dark
Happy birthday! 27 is cool because your mind thinks you can just stay there for years. You'll love it.
I WANT TO WIN!
A recent good read was A Conspiracy Of Kings. Not nearly as good as The King or The Queen, but still good.
I've pretty much told everyone I know in person & who enjoys reading paranormals that this is one of those books they will NEED to read ASAP. You've got about 10 people who will be attacking me for a copy of Paranormalcy if I get it earlier (including my mom, who has only ever attacked me when I got an ARC of Insatiable, so I guess you're special!).
I WANT TO WIN! (And to help persuade you, I'll give you the fisty shake of doom *shakes fist menacingly*)
One of my favorite recent reads: I'm giving you two!
Insatiable by Meg Cabot--great modern day sequel of Bram Stoker's Dracula. One sexy vampire + a hawt vampire hunter + awesome heroine + lots of humor = Book full of win.
Hunted by the Others by Jess Haines--she's a sweetheart, I heart her, and Shia's gang is so awesome and hilarious, you can't help but fall in love with this creatively original universe.
And now I think you should answer me on Twitter because if you're going to BEA, and IF I can snag a copy of Paranormalcy earlier, then I don't think the fisty shake of doom will be necessary *g*
Love this cover. I can't wait to get my hands on this book!!! I told a few people about this book as well as posted it on my Waiting On Wednesday Post.
Fave book. The Messenger by Markus Zusak. It's very Australian and the Author is fantastic. Ooh.. and I really loved reading Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton.
:)

(Not sure if you wanted the email address but it can't hurt right lol)
I just turned 27 in March and it was like a slap in the face. Crap, I'm in my LATE TWENTIES. Yikes. ;-)
I totally want to win this book!! I blogged about it http://sarablarson.blogspot.com and am going to tweet about it too. Not sure how to post about that though... ;-)
A book I just read that I could put down (although it was really dark) was JEKEL LOVES HYDE by Beth Fantaskey. An intriguing take on that whole story. LIPS TOUCH was amazing, wasn't it?
I told all of my friends about this book, how awesome it sounds, and how pretty the cover is.
One of your favorite recent reads, is Lies by: Michael Grant, I keep re-reading it because it is SUCH a good book.
I've been telling a lot of people in my life about this book. My best friends, family, other friends, and aquaintances (like the girl who sits beside me in history...we havent even exchanged names yet).
Im so excited for this book. I'd love to win an ARC but even if I don't, it'll be on my shelf by the 22nd.
Last book I read was seeing red by Frank Beddor, a great conclusion to a wonderful trilogy. The book I'm reading right now, The Body Finder by KImberly Derting is really good as well.
I just showed my sister the cover, but i'll also be posting Paranormalcy as my WoW for this week @ www.cryhavocreviews.com Anyway, I can't wait to read this! It sounds very promising. I just finished reading The Demon's Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan last night. It was wonderful, I even cried at the end! I highly recommend it.
Totally tweeting because it is an awesome cover and I really want to read it having seen the cover on three blogs just this morning. Every time I see it I think how great it looks - congratulations.
My most recent read that I've enjoyed - YA novel Destiny's Right Hand by Michael Wagner. Very interesting story and character development. For something more adult, I reread Ann Bishop's Dark Jewel's Trilogy which is just a great read.
Wishing you luck with the book.
I want to read this book so much! My most recent excellent read was Green Angel by Alice Hoffman (oh, how i cried!)
I want to win!
I've several great books recently and one HUGE disappointment (which I won't mention because it was written by someone of whom you have expressed your adoration multiple times on this blog). I just finished The Graveyard Book and loved it!
I've been spreading the Paranormalcy love since before it even had a cover... and now that there's one to show, I've been doing it even more! :) So I did remind my friend Audrey of its awesomeness.
I would love, love, love to win a copy of PARANORMALCY, but one of my favorite recent reads was FIRELIGHT by Sophie Jordan... which is also HarperTeen! :)
Thanks!
Sara @ The Hiding Spot
grochowskis@hotmail.com
I tweeted about your book!
I would love to win. Paranormalcy sounds interesting. The cover looks great, every eye catching.
One of my favorite recent reads is Prada and Prejudice by Mandy Hubbard.
I have tweeted about this book. I would love to win the arc so I can read it and get the word out there before it's released. It would look great as a review on my blog. My fave read just now is lacey weatherfords of witches and warlocks series great light fun read. Thank you
susankmann@blueyonder.co.uk
I Wanna Win! I Wanna Win!
I've told my daughter all about Paranormalcy and she's told all of the girls on her softball team. There was much squealing and swooning.
I finished Horns by Joe Hill over the weekend. Technically, horror, but there was a nice love story woven in there too.
Are you kidding?! I've told EVERYONE about your book - have tweeted your link, blogged about it, spoken to people at work about, spoken to friends about it.
I'm not sure if or when it's being published in the UK so I'd really like to get hold of this book! Like desperately!
Favourite reads? Just enjoyed Heavenly and Penitence by Jennifer Laurens (reviews on my blog) and Beastly by Alex Flinn was good too.
*fingers, toes et al crossed* and thank you for such an AWESOME giveaway. Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIERSTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is such a great contest! I've been telling people about your book for months. That counts, right? ;)
Right now I'm reading The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney and I LOVE IT!!
Can't wait to read Paranormalcy!
I have a post scheduled for Waiting on Wednesday this week for Paranormalcy- which I must now go and edit that to include this contest. Although I really would love to win it myself. I feel the need to share the love. I am also at a write in with 8 other people and made them all look at the pretty cover while I gushed over the book.
I would absolutely love to win an ARC of Paranormalcy. I would SQUEE and do a snoopy dance and it would be a gloriously happy day to go down in history as my very first ARC ever.
Good books I have recently read are the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr and The Beekeepers Apprentice by Laurie R King. Both absolutely awesome in their own respective individual rights.
Yes I want to win.

I would absolutely love to win your book! Ironically, its release date is the day after my birthday. (How cool is that?!) And I just finished Aprilynne Pike's WINGS and really liked it. (I know, I know. I'm late, but better late than never.) Congrats on the release and ur b'day! :)
Oh goodness, the cover to Paranormalcy is beautiful ! And even though there are a hundred so comments, I would love to win that book ! I'm 14 and I'm attempting to write a paranormal young adult book and having a little more insight on different takes of the paranormal would be a great help.
Thank you for this amazing oppurtunity ! You have no idea how much it made my day just to find out I had a chance to win Paranormalcy !

I've been raving about this book on my blog since I first heard about it AND I'm down to read it for the Debut Author Challenge. But I also told some sixteen-year-old girls (my little brother's girlfriend and her friends).
Two great YA books that I read recently (that were also really original) were THE GUARDIAN OF DEAD by Karen Healey and THE DUST OF 100 DOGS by A.S. King.
Also, thanks for including internationals. We always miss out on the fun contests!
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Hello! :)
I have told a lot of people - LOL, but most recently I told my Mum, who looked thrilled as always as I tried to explain that this wasn't just another addition to my 70 book long "to read" list, and that I didn't just want to read it, I REALLY wanted to read it! :D
So yah - I really want to win, hahaha :)
One of my most recent favourite reads would probably be "The Body Finder" - it was fabulous! And I'm reading Elizabeth Scott's "the unwritten rule" right now, It's caught me, hook line and sinker! LOVE it! :)
Thank you for the contest! :)

http://twitter.com/AineFey/status/14656960042
2. I want to win the ARC!
and
I'm reading SUNSHINE by Robin McKinley and thoroughly enjoying it. But two of my favorite reads this year have been RADIANT SHADOWS by Melissa Marr and WHITE CAT by Holly Black
Told my friends about it and just -- just now, just -- told the boyfriend. He doesn't seem as excited as the friends, but I think that's more a reflection of his poor judgment than anything else.
I recommend IF I STAY by Gayle Forman because it was so beautiful and sad and amazing.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
My husband has heard all about your book & knows how exciting I am to read it.
I want to win & my favorite book that I've read lately is Fallen by Lauren Kate.
abibliophilesparadise@gmail.com
I've heard so many rocking awesome things about this book! I MUST READ IT!
I told my librarian. Does that count? If not, I am also twittering it!
And my book recommendation is Good Enough by Paula Yoo.It's funny,
I've told most people I know about Paranormalcy (and congratulated your brazilian publisher, Galera Record, on acquiring it; and my two best friends have heard a lot about your blog as well. Yeah, I'm addicted.
Now, as for book recs... I'm sure you've read most of my loves. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, for example, most people I know love. So, I'm gonna rec Derby Girl by Shauna Cross for a laugh and girl power, and 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher for the overwhelming feeling of hopelessness you get throughout the book (hey, I liked it). Though you've probably read those already.
I really want to read Paranormalcy!
I blogged it. http://aprilnichole.com/2010/05/24/cover-fancy/
A recent read that I really enjoyed was The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

Oh, and happy belated B-day....and trust me (the 43 year old) - you are YOUNG!
I haven't read YA a lot recently, but I'm so excited about this book! I definitely want to win!
One of my favorite recent reads was Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. It's his new series, set in a colortocracy (I think that's the word he uses....): a class society based on the colors the individuals can see. Very fun read!
I'm also planning on rereading Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George. I'm not sure why, but the book popped in my head recently, so I'm going to read it.
I want to win!!!!!
I adore both the books you're offering and that's just from the descriptions

Can I just say I am DESPERATE to win this? I have been interested in Paranormalcy for like ages! I would love to win that!
My favorite books recently read are Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins! The books made me fall in love with the genre dystopia. I loved the complexity of the characters, the first pangs of love, the confusion in love, and the fight for survival. But if that's what's the future's gonna be like, then I am so scared of it! I'd rather it never comes!!
I added the contest to my blog-http://bookaholicsoye.blogspot.com/(under 'Contests' in the right sidebar)

Dude, your book is HIGH on my anticipation meter!
Things I've enjoyed lately have been:
MOCKINGBIRD by Katherine Erskine...such a tender story and so well written.
THE SPACE BETWEEN TREES by Katie Williams. Made me shiver for days.
SOULLESS by Gail Carriger. Oh, Steampunk. I referred to my hubby as a werewolf after reading this. A total compliment, I swear.
Can't wait to read your book!! Sooner or later!
I really really REALLY really really want to win this! I never win ARCs *sad face*. And I am DYING to read Paranormalcy!
I told my friends on goodreads all about it and posted as "to-read", so I'm praying that I can win this one because of my lack of resources at the moment. Bah humbug to resources! It counts on goodreads, right? *crickets*
I HIGHLY recommend Finnikin of the Rock by Mellina Marchetta. I read it just this month and it has become one of my favorite books. It's a beautiful story about hope and regaining pride and identity.
Pick me! Pick me! I promise to feed it everyday! Invisible book food!
I wants! La!
One of my favorite recent reads... Well, do rereads count? I've felt the recent urge to revisit Sharon Shinn (who has three lovely series), so I'm rereading her... The book I'm currently in love with is Mystic and Rider. But the other series are excellent as well. :)

I can't wait to read your book!! So an ARC would be awesome ;)
I loved The Perks of Being a Wallflower! It really surprised me. And I just read Shade and was also pleasently surprised. It turned out to be much more than I expected.
I tweeted about your book here: http://twitter.com/Entre_Libros/status/14675736979 and I have the countdown in my blog
Thank you for the giveaway!

1. Am excited for your book to come out! Have told people. :)
2. Want to win! :)
3. Fav recent read? That's harder to say. I've recently read Terry Pratchett's MAKING MONEY, Mette Ivie Harrison's MIRA, MIRROR and Jacqueline Carey's KUSHIEL'S DART, all of which were good in very different ways (although I teared up at the end of MIRA, MIRROR). I think the last book(s) I read that I loved and couldn't get through fast enough were the first two books in Maria V Snyder's Glass series - STORM GLASS and SEA GLASS.
:)
First off, happy birthday! Twenty seven doesn't sound that old. Really. And that's coming from an eighteen year old. :) Anyhoo, I already told everyone I know who loves to read about your book. Seriously, your blog is one of the
most interesting ones I follow, how could I not? My most recent reads in the YA section were 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson (reread), Forever Princess by Meg Cabot (reread), Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend by Carrie Jones, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin, and Psych Major Syndrome by Alicia Thompson. I also just started reading Heist Society by Ally Carter. These are all phenomenal books. I didn't even want to finish them, they're so good. :) Thanks for the awesome contest! If I don't win, I'm still
most definitely buying your book, I promise. Have a great birthday week!
I don't tweet and very seldom visit Facebook.
Bandwidth problems in this country !
However I do belong to a reading club and have told them about your new release.
Hope that counts.
If so please add me to the 142 that have already entered this giveaway !

Oh, I've so told everyone. Paranormalcy has been at the top of my list of this year's releases ever since I heard it was coming out.
I would love, love, love to win this book. It sounds like a fantastic read.
This year has had so many great releases. One of the last ones I've read was Hex Hall, another great read.
I can't wait to read your book.
Told my friends about your book! :) Yay! And I wanna win it!
My fave recent read would be Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Can't wait for Mockingjay to come out!
Thanks!
bunnybx at gmail . com
Your cover is on my Wall Of Awesome Stuff (it's a giant pinboard I put cool things on - there are pictures and book covers I've printed out and sparkly things I find and old theatre tickets, all sorts) so I think almost every friend I have has been introduced to it!
As for an awesome book I've recently read...I'm going to give it up for A Gathering Light by Jennifer Donnelly. I read it when I was about twelve from the library and then found it in a charity shop the other day and fell upon it with glee and fond memories. It's absolutely lovely, both a sweet story and mystery, and the main character writes stories and learns a new word every day, which is always going to be someone I can get on board with!
Thanks for holding this awesome contest! :D
Paranormalcy is one of the most anticipated YA books of 2010. The cover was enough to satisfy the bookworm in me. And upon reading what the book is about, I was even more convinced that your book is a must have. As a lover of paranormal, how can I not want this?? I want it so badly!
Shiver is one of my favorite reads. It's wonderful how Maggie made a twist in the mythology of werewolves and her writing is just awesome!
Thank you!
Precious_shusky@yahoo.com
I wanted to read Paranormalcy ever since I saw the cover! I pretty much told every one of my bookworm friends about the book, so yeah :)
One of my favorite recent reads would be The Gift by Cecelia Ahern. Loved it!

Without a doubt, my most recent favourite read is Spirit Bound. I LOVED IT!!

I really really really wanna read this book, so yes I would love to win it!
Two books I read and loved of late are Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly books, Grave Surprise and An Ice Cold Grave. I just love Harris.

PICK ME PICK ME! I read the synopsis somewhere last time and I really liked it, and the cover is quite memorable and nice :D I feel like I'm going to loveeeeeee your book. :D
Well, recently I'm really busy with my exams, and school... and school... and school..., last but not least, school. The last book I finished... I think it was Marley and Me (see? busy schooling) by John Grogan and I absolutely loveeeeeee it to the max! I was never an animal person, and now I'm a dog person lmao. Currenly reading Lonestar Homecoming by Colleen Coble, and I've only read very few pages, and I'm supposed to review them, but I can't find the time to read yet. And actually I should be studying Biology now. *guilty* Oh btw the book, so far so good. I've only read that little I can't judge much. But I'm enjoying it and I should probably read from the start when I found the time.
btw blogged here: http://fionalevesque.blogspot.com/2010/05/keirstenwrites-paranormalcy.html
and added the book to my wish-list shelf on goodreads! :D
and feeyonachan at gmail dot com
I honestly can't wait for Paranormalcy and would LOVE to win! (",) I've Tweeted about it, and linked the cover, and I've had it on my blog's side-bar, where I put books I'm looking forward to that haven't yet been released, for AGES now! :D
A great book I've read lately, hmmm, I have to go back in time a little because I've been in a reading slump of the most boring books possible, which explains the dwindling book reviews on my blog, lol :s Sad, but true. Okay, let's see ... The Hunger Games and Catching Fire!!! (but everyone knows they're the AWESOMENESS!) ... also, Hush, Hush, The Dark Divine, and The Oracle of Dating :)
Have a lovely day! bella-on-toast@hotmail.com
This book is on my Goodreads "to-read" pile already and I can hardly wait! Enter me, enter me!
I'm currently reading Soulless by Gail Carriger and loving it. It took me quite a while to get into the mood of it but I can't put it down now, totally addicted. And of course, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire were just hard to put down.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and thanks for the great contest. :-)
As a seventh grade English teacher, and an avid fan of Teen Lit, I am in love with this book cover! I have already shown it to several friends who are also going to read it. :) Since the 21st of September is the day after my husband's birthday, it looks like I will buy him a present to give to me! Hee hee! Happy Belated Birthday to you by the way. I hope the day found you well and happy at the end of it.
Currently I am reading Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I love it. I was surprised at the beginning because it was almost scary, but now I am wrapped up in the plot and cannot wait to get home from school to read some more of it. Yay!
Have a great day!
Katie G.
I told my husband. In fact, when I showed him the cover, I told him that Taylor Swift will probably play Evie in the movie. I told him to MARK MY WORDS, this was going to be a big, big thing! Just wait!
Here's my comment. Oh, boy. I would love to get my hands on both books! Lips Touch is in my TBR pile, too!
Have a good one, Kiersten! And Happy Birthday! You've accomplished so much in the last year!
Pick me! Pick me!!! PLEASE!?! A recent read that I enjoyed was Spells by Aprilynne Pike. I hope you having a good birthday today!
Oh, no! So many entries! I want to win an ARC of Paranormalcy so badly because you rock, and, consequently, your book must really rock! :D
I tweeted, and I'll continue to spread the word, trust me!
The best book I've read recently was LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday and enjoy celebrating your Birthday Week. You are a new author to me so I have added you to my list along with your books. I have move them to my wish list. Can't wait to read. Congrats on your uncoming release.
I have not read Lips which also looks great.
I told two friends who are avid readers as I am,
also tweeted(@misskallie2000)and
requested friend on FB so I can let friends know who are readers and who have YA readers.
Just finished reading Stella Cameron Tell Me Why and started her Kiss Them Goodbye.
misskallie2000 at yahoo dot com
I love it when excitement is palpable, when you can roll it around on the table and palp away at all its...palpy bits.
Just re-read the Gruffalo, for nostalgia.
Coincidentally, both of these books are on my wishlist, so it was very easy to brag about it on Twitter (@Margay).
There are two books that I've read recently that knocked my socks off - Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I would recommend both.

So many entries! I want to win an ARC of Paranormalcy so badly because it would make my 21st b-day complete - seeing as I'm waaaay to poor to go to Vegas & I'll be stuck here in Arkansas for the big 2-1. So yeah - - this is me pandering hoping that my comment gets noticed out of the thousands of others that are here *& probably deserve to win more than me*
I told my co-workers *all three of them - yay for small business about your book & all three of them seem genuinely as excited as I am for it*
The best book I've read recently was Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr - - I know late to the party but I'm just now reading her books & I find them quite tasty. As for the most recent book - I just finished reading Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready & I've gotta say - - paranormal romance might have to be my new niche genre after reading that book. <33
Any who - Happy birthday! Hope you have a great one. ; D

I would love to win a copy of this book. I love to read esp paranormal books and I love to win books. I told friends on facebook.

I would love to win an arc! Yay! And a very Happy Birthday to you. I shared with all my twitter friends about your arc give away!
I recently read, Soulless by Gail Carriger and absolutely loved it! Great fun and voice.
Happy birthday Kiersten! I have been following your blog for a while now and have been telling people they needed to grab this book for a while now. Many of us are looking forward to it! So keep doing what you love and we'll keep reading!
One of my favorite reads has been an obvious: Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I love, love, love me some Collins. But I'd love, love, love, love an ARC of Paranormalcy too ;)
Happy birthday! You are NOT old. Especially when I'm twice your age, because I simply won't allow it to be old. :)
I have mentioned your book and cool cover a couple of times on my blog already. And I don't particularly need to win your book as I have already pre-ordered it on Amazon. However, I would much rather have a book that has come from the author (the cache, you know.)
I've read a number of books recently, many good. I think the best books I've read in recent years are the Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series. Book 4 is coming out soon, too.
Happy Birthady!^O^
I told about your book to all my friends who love to read in English! I can't wait to read it!
I want to win! :P Thank you for making this awesome contest international! You books sounds GREAT!^O^
One of my favorite recent reads is Mistwood by Leah Cypess.
Thank you for this chance!
Giada M.
fabgiada @ gmail.com
I want to win :) Happy birthday, by the way.
I'm reading Cyn Balog's Fairy Tale, which I totally love. I'm a slow reader, so I get to enjoy it for a long time! :)
I would love to win a copy of your
ARC (gorgeous cover, by the way!). Recently I have read "Brightly Woven" by Alexandra Bracken and "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart. I'm on a YA/MG kick!
Ha! I did this on Saturday without even knowing there was a contest!
My friend (not realizing how much of a YA bookworm I am): So have you read THE HUNGER GAMES?
Me: Uh. Yeah. I loved it.
My friend: I love it, too!
Me: You know, if you like YA books, there's a new one coming out later this year that I'm super excited about. It's called PARANORMALCY, and it's about this teenage girl who hunts paranormals all over the world. Sort of like James Bond (I think), except with fairies and vampires and stuff instead of Russians.
My friend: Cool!
I couldn't show her the cover, since we were at a fundraiser dinner and I haven't invested in any of that fancy handheld multimedia equipment stuff. So I'll have to do that. But I would love to win. And I recently Shannon Hale's AUSTENLAND and loved it. I'll let you know when I show someone the cover (which is beautiful, by the way).
YAY International!
I showed my mum the cover. She already knows how crazy I am for books :P
I just, just finished Vampire Academy and LOVED it! :D Although I'm sure most of your commenters must have already read it.
happy birthday ! Thank you for the contest . Please enter me as international!

I lately enjoyed VA #4 bloody promise richelle mead !
Um, HI, I would like to win! Yes I would.
Favorite recent read: THE CITY OF EMBER by Jeanne DuPrau (MG/early YA). So well written. So sparkly.
Also, HAPPY BIRFFDAY! You make 27 look gorgeous.
There's the blog post where I sound slightly hysterical because i'm so excited for this book!
http://harmonyradiantreads.blogspot.com/2010/05/day-in-which-i-tell-you-about-awesome.html
I tell all my friends who ask about up-coming books so let's say about...15? In the past 2 months or so? Yeah people suck, but i'll ramble on and on about books so no problem!
Recent reads? Thief Eyes by Janni Lee Simmer is really good, So is Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken (love love love), & The Thief by Megan Whale Turner
I would love a copy of this book! I can't wait for it to come out. I've already shared it with my students (I teach high school) and they are equally excited. A recent good read for me was "Liar." It messed with my mind, I tell ya!
Happy Birthday! (:
I actually just called my sister in to my room and told her I wanted this book, but the just rolled her eyes, and walked away. Ah, well, at least I tried right? (:
I want to win this (No duh, or I wouldnt be entering right? ;D)
I read two really fabtabulous books recently, and since I can't chose, I'm breaking the rules and chosing both (; :
Cathing Fire <33
And The Host <3

Soo first off HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Or should i say Happy Belated Birthday? nevertheless do i have a story for you, well not actually a story but a collection of random things. First off let me tell you what a huge book nerd i am, i get my hands on anything and ill read it. I also have a wish list on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, updated DAILY with new books added that I can't wait to read. Guess what? Yours is on my list and top priority to read when it comes out. I have told my boyfriend over and over again how much i cant wait to read your book and I'm pretty sure hes tuned me out for good. Boyfriend = notabookreaderATall. He is always sick of me rambling on about books, but you know what? He does the same with me about WRESTLING, yes that's right WRESTLING, 23 watches wrestling religiously. We balance each other out, right? Right. Back to the point, Even if i don't win this contest you best bet ill be getting Paranormalcy the day it comes out. Oh and the book I'm currently reading is Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead, I wouldn't put it down if work didn't get in the way!
Id like to take this time and thank you for reading my random musings. OH and I would love to win!
-Koriann
I've told my sisters and my mom about how excited I am for Paranormalcy, I really can't wait!
And for my favorite recent reads - I've finally discovered the brilliance of John Green. So far I've read (and loved!) Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines is next. (Unless of course I get my hands on a copy of Paranormalcy first, hehe)
First of all, Happy Birthday!!!!
or, Feliz Aniversário! (That's how we say happy birthday here in Brazil).
I have to say that I'm very anxious to read your Paranormalcy book! Actually, it seems to be a fantastic book!
I told my friends and my sister about the book! My sister is interested, and I hope my friends too! :D
So, I REALLY WANT this book! Really! Because, despite the fact that this seems to be a fantastic book, here in Brazil, U.S. books are too expensive, so, this would be great :D
I confess that I never read your books, and I'm so sorry for that, But I hope I could start with Paranormalcy! :D
And one of my favorite recent reads? Oh, that's difficult!
Humm, I really liked Dark Lover, written by J.R. Ward, but also So Yesterday, by Scott Westerfeld, The Host by Stephenie Meyer, Fallen by Lauren Kate, Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, and Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian. I suposed that I have to choose only one, right? I'm sorry for that, put it's almost impossible to choose :S
So, I guess I'm breaking the rules, right? Sorry :(
So, I guess that's it! :D
Sorry about my bad english, but sometimes is hard for me to express myself in another language. I try. I really try, but sometimes, it doesn't work that well.
Kisses and Happy Birthday again! :)
My e-mail: happymusic_@hotmail.com
I've told SO MANY people about Paranormalcy! I can't wait!
I just finished RELENTLESS by Dean Koontz. It's not kidlit, but it's fantastic.

I want to win! I just told my mom about Paranormalcy! She steals all my YA books, so if I win, you'll get to readers in one!
A recent read I loved was Wintergirls. I'm a little late to the game on that one, but wow! It was amazing!
I read this blog everyday even though I've never commented and will tweet about your book asap (all of 78 followers). I've already mentioned your book offline repeatedly. Can't wait!! My book recommendation right now is the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Enjoy!!! (and pretty please pick me to win :)
1) I want these books really bad, and every time I'm in one of the computer labs in my school I stop by your website and show whoever I'm sitting next to your books cover and gush about how much I want to read it! EVERY TIME. In fact I tell my teachers too, even though they get mad at me. I'm serious.
2) I want to win. Very much so! All I ever do is read a lot, sometimes when I'm supposed to be paying attention in class, and I've been looking forwards to this book since I first started reading your blog. Something I've read recently that I loved was Aimee, Rules of Attraction, Percy Jackson-The Lightning Thief, Shiver, Something Missing(written by my old school teacher) and Just One Wish.
Just to reiterate I really want to win.

Good reads recently : Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves and Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver.
lesly7ch(at)yahoo(dot)com
I was just talking about your book the other day. In another city, no less, so I'm spreading the word in various places, which is pretty amazing since I don't know you at all...okay, it may border on obsessive behaviour considering how long I've been a blog stalker, but whatevs. Your cover is stunning! :)
Right now I'm just starting the last Fablehaven book: Keys to the Demon Prison. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed the series!
I've been spreading the word!! I don't always have a picture, but I tell everyone I know that reads YA about Paranormalcy. My best friend, of course, gets bombarded with my various emails about books and she got a cover shot. We're both excited for it!!!
Recent reads that I loved:Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus, Stork by Wendy Delsol, and Shiver---absolutely LOVE Shiver. :)
Pick me, pretty please with whole cupcakes on top..I am dying to read Paranormalcy!!

dukesangel002(at)yahoo(dot)com
Oooh, I'd love to win! Not only because your book sounds FABULOUS and I simply CAN'T WAIT to read it, but also because I love free stuff. It'd take some serious voodoo for me to win ANYTHING, but your book makes me believe in magic.
Recent awesome books I've read:
Stolen by Lucy Christopher (I started reading in the bookstore and couldn't put it down. Talk about tension!)
Card Turner by Louis Sachar (Definitely an example of good writing making a good story out of something you wouldn't think would be interesting.)
I want to win! I just finished the old, but excellent, The Lost Legends of New Jersey
I expressed my want for Paranormalcy in a tweet http://twitter.com/Danidlion/status/14784628311 tho it doesnt even begin to accurately encompass my want!
a) I'm not really sure what you're asking, but... HELLZ YEAH I WANT TO WIN THESE BOOKS LOOK LIKE THE EPITOMY OF ALL AWESOME! :]
b) A favorite recent read if mine would be Shadow Hills, or The Knife of Never Letting Go.
I read the excerpt, I RT'd, I am hopelessly hooked... and it's YOUR FAULT.
So now I want to WIN!
I recently finished Will Grayson, Will Grayson: I cried at the end (and a few times in the middle), I laugh out loud A LOT, and I gave it to my parents to read next. My Dad also finished the novel with tears and a declaration that, "everybody who have to read this book!" (My parents are kind of awesome).
Plus, John Green know who you are! Just sayin'.
I would LOVE to win this book. I've been telling my students all about it. :) As far as my fave books, BOTH of Courtney Summers' novels, Cracked Up to Be and Some Girls Are.
I RT your contest. I also commented on your new book on Facebook. http://bit.ly/aihkhr. I Tweeted the pic of the book cover a long with a comment.
I am a YA blog book reviewer. I would love an ARC copy of this book so I could review it for my site. I would reccommend two books I've read recently, first Beautiful Creatures By Kami Garcia and Maragaret Stohl. Here is my review ~ http://bit.ly/9chIcr and second book, The Dark Divine By Bree Despain. Here is my review ~ http://bit.ly/aVASgL. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
I hope I WIN!!! I won't let you down.

Hi Kiersten,
I'd love to read your novel because this isn't my usual genre. I'd be happy to be a convert and become a fan!
I'm usually a classics girl (love Twain and Steinbeck oodles) but have recently been reading from the NY Bestseller's list to see what the trends are now. I LOVED The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and Hunger Games was fantastic too. Also, The Road by Cormac McCarthy (sad but beautiful) and from the old school: Diary of Adam & Eve by Twain if you haven't yet. FABULOUS!
Thanks for considering me!
~Misty
I've been wanting to read Paranormalcy since I heard that it was going to be published:)
I've told my daughter and my sister about it and they are eagerly waiting for its release, too.
I read The Dead & The Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer recently and it was wonderful.
I want to win!!! I recently finished Streams of Babel by Carol Plum-Ucci and I LOVED it! I hope you have a great birthday and that the mailman gives back the Mother of The Year award he stole from you!
crazypplrok@gmail.com
I read an excerpt after Stephanie Perkins tweeted about it. The excerpt made me laugh and made me instantly think of friends who would enjoy, so I posted it on my facebook for my friends to see.
It definitly made me think of Buffy but also of Stephanie Plum the bounty hunter...Who I happen to love.
The last good book I read was My Double Life by Janette Rallison, who I also adore!
Okay, I can't believe I'm just now seeing this! I'm the tweeter who suggested it. Hee hee. I'm sure you would have come up with it on your own, though.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'm turning 27 this July, so I commiserate. It's okay, though. Just entering the respected realm of late-twenty-somethings.
a) I really want to win this! Especially if you happen to sign it. I'm like the other commenters who said they shared this website and cover pic AS SOON AS they saw it themselves. Yes, your blurb and cover are THAT good!
b) My latest favorite book is one I just read called WINGS by Aprilynne Pike. I love paranormal YA. I'm already positive Paranormalcy is going to be a new fave for me.
Thanks for doing this contest! I hope you have a great birthday with lots of cupcakes and sprinkles.
