Epic Quests

The time has come, my little friends, to do important stuff.
Not cleaning, as you might suspect, (I've simply had enough,)
But organizing this dear blog to be a nicer read
And this is where you all come in, to fill my desperate need.

Please tell me in the comments here what are your favorite posts
The ones that were the funniest or helped you out the most
So I can make a lovely list to guide our newfound friends
Lest they try to read them all and their eyeballs meet an end.

Someday I'll learn to note these things as I go along
But yesterdays were not that day, and this blog is LONG.
I'll try to get two nice link lists of funny and of good
And keep better track of what's of worth, because I really should.

It must be that time of the year because we just re-organized our blog as well - and when I say we, I mean my lovely blogging partner because I'm so not good at that stuff.

Anyway, as far as favorites, I loved both your posts on branding and felt they were super helpful to aspiring writers everywhere. As most of your posts are hilarious, it'll be difficult for you to break them down by funny. Good luck w/ the re-organization!

Oh sure, start this AFTER I've gotten halfway through your entire archive!!!

:P

J/k. I'm still going to go through and read them all! Eventually...

One that I've really liked so far is The Five Stages of Querying Grief: http://kierstenwrites.blogspot.com/2008/08/five-stages-of-querying-grief.html

I'll be sure to add any more that I bookmark along the way.

I'm new, so I don't know
But I loved how you gave us a show
With this rhyming post of yours
You deserve an award for sure!

:)

Kristi--Ooh, yeah, hadn't even thought of that one. Thanks!

Kristan--You were my inspiration : ) But just think of all the little things you're reading that NO ONE ELSE EVER WILL. Because you are special : )

Elana--Glad I can bust out the rhymes
and someone else has a good time
sometimes I wonder
if it is a blunder
But after all, this blog is mine.

(Also, it's exactly for people like you that I need to do this. So you can read the REALLY good stuff without having to read through everything else. Which is also good. But not REALLY good. But still pretty good. Because I like myself.)

"Kristan--You were my inspiration"

I would like that on my tombstone, please.

:D

Ha! Well, I'd prefer you not die any time soon.

Short of copying the whole blog to your sidebar, there's not much you can do as far as my favourite posts are concerned.

That said, your bra poem circa April 2008 was what kept me here after you'd lured me from EE's 2nd Anniversary blog.

Oh — and landing an agent (though I'm sure you'll have included that one already).

I can say right off the top of my head, Kiersten, that any and all conversations between Mac and/or Laptop and you should, deservedly so, get their own category.

Also, the song about how math and english don't go together should also be granted its own area, as well as any others you've done.

Lastly, at this very moment I can think to suggest that all vlogs go in their own category as well.

I will do my best to think of others. This morning I got an idea for a short story (based on a VERY weird dream I had last night), so I will be working on that amongst helping suggest ways for you to organize this fantastic space. :-)

Enjoyed the rhyme. Fairly new reader myself and so far it's been win/win. Whatever you do, I'm almost positive will be a wonderful experience. (Hugs)Indigo

I think my favorite is "How to Write a Novel" or something like that. The one with green papayas anyhow.

The first one that came to mind in the helpful category is the one on how to describe how your main character looks. (As well as ways NOT to describe how they look!) I loved how the narrator was noticing where the guy's eyes would linger. Very funny as well as extremely helpful!

Oooh, good ones! Thank you!!

I second Laptop conversations!

I loved your trip to NY and the pictures of you with your agent and editor.

The purple stripe post where you make good on your deal with the universe

Your recent contest (the comments were hilarious)

My favorite LOL post of your was when you and Steph were competing with Carrie and Natalie. AND YOU SANG! That post made my day.

Is there an easy way to see which post had the most comments? That would be a pretty good indication of interest. Good luck!

Okay, now where do I find the one that Peggy mentioned on how to describe how your main character looks? I need that one right now! So, my suggestion would be a search tool. Can you do one of those?

Oh, just found another one I loved and bookmarked: http://kierstenwrites.blogspot.com/2009/11/everyone-has-book-inside.html

Sharon--http://kierstenwrites.blogspot.com/2009/07/character-descriptions.html

Blogger itself has a search tool in the upper left-hand corner. If you enter "Character Descriptions" you could probably find it pretty easily even without the link.
