Why Hot Stuff Rocks #482

The other night Hot Stuff and I were watching Phoebe in Wonderland. It was an interesting movie, made more so by their very honest portrayal of the emotional balancing act motherhood is. At one point Felicity Huffman, the mom, was crying, saying, "I don't want to get to the end of my life and have nothing to show for it, nothing important."

Hot Stuff shook his head. "See, people don't get it. It's not about being important!" He paused slightly, and I smiled at my husband's wisdom, assuming he was going to say something along the lines of it's about living a good life regardless of how many people care. However, he continued: "It's about destruction and conquest! Just look at history! Those are the only people who matter."

Yes, folks, he's fun to watch movies with.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some destruction and conquest to plan.

LOL!
Sounds like a night of movie watching with my family members. You never know what insightful/crazy/ridiculous things they're going to say next!

I think Hot Stuff and my Hubby would get along just fine. Hubby goes into 1-2 hr philosophy sessions after we watch certain movies. But I've learned to nod and say yes, I agree, your right every few seconds to get him to shut up. LOL!

Aw, he sounds like a real gem.

I wish I had some cute quote to throw out from my Wonderful Boyfriend (W.B. for short) but they are all escaping me at the moment. Ugh, mornings.

I never stop talking during movies. This usually annoys other people, especially when I begin predicting what will happen next and I'm right.

My boyfriend, Sarcastically Deliscous (SD), does the SAME thing. Your hubby and SD could be great friends

Oh, I've been wanting to see that movie! Hot Stuff is way ahead, you know. He may be all about death and destruction while watching Pheobe in Wonderland, but he watched it with you. (Or did you watch it with him?) My husband and I have very different taste in movies.

Um, Kiersten? Does Hot Stuff have a striking teenage boy-like mindset? Is he possibly a freakishly voracious reader who stays up all hours of the night? Because he sounds exactly like me!
I guess this is what you're blog has done to me. Or I've passed it on to you as a carrier, and you gave it to Hot Stuff.
Ah, the wonders of blogging.

Oh, wow. It's like a Master's course in Philosophy coupled with an MBA, in five short sentences. With a minor in History. Did he go to Yale, by any chance? Perhaps act as Chief Executive for a major world power for the last eight years? Just askin'.

I have heard that well behaved women seldom make history, so this could be an explanation...

I like your husband. He's like a cute bundle of wise and weird.

Yep. It's all about the destruction and conquest.

But not necessarily in that order.

Man, Hot Stuff and Slayer would get along SO well. We have to double date sometime. They can plan to take over the world, and we can... do something. Fun.

I actually laughed out loud reading this post because it sounds exactly like something my own dear husband would say :)

Watching anything with him is always interesting!
