Shame on Me

I can't believe I forgot to announce Carrie Harris's book deal on my blog! Shame, shame on me. So, there you have it. The awesome zombie queen herself sold her book, No Pain, No Brain to Delacorte! And I've read it, and it's funny and scary and awesome and I'm so glad other people will be able to see that for themselves soon!

In honor of Carrie, I've made up a zombie joke:

Why did the blonde break up with her zombie boyfriend?

He only liked her for her brains.

HA! No? Dang. Jokes = not my forte. Ah well.

In other news, Editor Erica and I are trying to pick the photo for my book cover. (Insert Kiersten, shaking her head and grinning in goofy disbelief that this is still real.) Basically all we've been able to decide on is this:

We do not want to go for accuracy. Thus, this picture, while true-to-life, is out.

Seriously though, my problem is I have several really beautiful shots courtesy of Wendy Whitacre of Blue Lily Photography, and we just can't choose. I know, who'd have guessed from the picture above that I'd have a hard time narrowing based on all of the photos being too good? Just goes to show that a talented photographer can do anything.

Speaking of talent, did you go say congrats to Carrie yet?

This picture is too funny! Love it!

And of course, I've congratulated Carrie :) (but in case she forgot - Congrats again Carrie! Can't wait to see No Pain, No Brain on shelves!)

Is Dojo posing for that, or was he just really unhappy about the paparazzi? And, more importantly, were you posing for that, or were you just really unhappy about the paparazzi?

lol, I love the look on Dojo's face. He's so perfectly grumpy. Classic. :)

Yeah, sagging lip is the pits. I have that too. Good photographers are priceless.

Thank you, dahlink! I thought your joke was funny. And I'm not just saying that because I am a suckup.

I'm sure whichever photo you pick will be wonderful. Because, well, you're just plain cute.

Yeah, I AM a suckup, aren't I?

You should put the finalist photos in a blog post and let us choose! Probably won't happen, but that would be awesome.

To answer your questions: This is a regular face for Dojo, and that is my face after spending several hours trapped at a mall with him.

What fun -- picking the photo for your book cover.
(The pic you posted was great.) Enjoy it...like a big hot fudge sundae...it will be over before you know it, until your next book needs a cover! ;)

Skis, apparently, are in, but as dust jackets normally showcase authors in a variety of poses from the shoulders up only, my hot tip is for your glorious visage to be set against a backdrop of snowy mountains.

Either that, or you should invest in earrings of purest fibreglass/aluminium ply, to be angled towards the camera, slalom-style.
