It's true. I pretend like I'm above pop culture, and I have never once bought a celebrity magazine, but I read the articles online. What can I say, I can't help myself. Especially on days like today, when BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER HAS A BABY.
Oh yeah, that would be the second confession that is in no way shameful whatsoever: I still think Buffy is one of the best shows that has ever been on television.
Anyway. Point being, there isn't one. I'm just happy for Sarah Michelle Gellar, and sure she wishes people would stop calling her Buffy.
In other, far less happy news, while SMG had the good sense to choose Charlotte, a perfectly lovely name for her daughter, some other celebrity chose to name her newborn girl Stella Luna.

They probably should have been brushing up on their picture book savvy.A bat. They named their daughter after a bat. And hey, I loved this book when I was little, and it's a great book, but still.

Secret project? Are you going to reveal what the secret project is at some point? Or did you just put that out there to torture us? :) I too enjoyed watching Buffy during my college years and I'm not above admitting that I watched the spin off, Angel, as well.

So funny! I love SMG, and yes, I still believe in my heart that the Scooby Gang hangs out all the time, and thus would throw her a party. (Although I still picture them in the library, not at the magic shop.) Thank God that woman has sense to name her baby something normal!
See, I should have known my readers were SO COOL they, too, would love Buffy.
And I agree that the library years were better than the magic shop years, but the library got blown to smithereens. Then again, so did the entire town, so as long as we're pretending it still exists, they might as well get to be in the library.
As far as the secret project, it's not that cool, and I will tell you about it if/when there is anything to tell.
(Also, Renee, I secretly think Apple is cute, too, but still horrible.)

I like the name Charlotte. Way back in the day, she was a name of an MC. Sigh.
I'm taking a guess at your secret project. Is it a movie-version of your book? I think it would make a good TV show. I haven't even read it! But just from the concept. It sounds very similar to Supernatural (love that show!)
Okay, story time!
My very first year as a kindergarten teacher I had no idea what I was doing, so any time my class got a little wired or whatever, we pulled out that book. It became their FAVORITE and they would BEG for it... it got to the point where almost every day at the end of the day I'd read that story!
Buffy was an epic show. Absolutely awesome and I am still upset that they ended it. At least Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't go for a stupid and eventually traumatizing name for her baby.

i was also bewildered about the chick from Grey's Anatomy naming her kid after that bat. It was the first thing I thought of. I know it is "star" and "moon" but could celebs possibly try to be NORMAL in naming their kids??
I teach 2nd grade and some of the names I've had to say and spell repeatedly had me holding miserable laughter inside.
I think SMG's "Charlotte Grace" is lovely and (my personal fave) gender-specific. As in, I can look at a class list in July and know if it's a boy or a girl.

AHHHH I knew there were several reasons to love you! Number one: Fellow Buffy Fan. I cried on the last episode when the series ended. By far best vampire television show...ever. Except for Angel, which was the spinoff. David Boreanas is still my hero.
If I want to get up at 5:00am they show reruns on the cable channels. I am not admitting to doing that or anything....

I watch Buffy every morning while I'm eating breakfast, when I finish the series I just start over again. BEST SHOW EVER.

Well, maybe she wasn't named after a bat, but coincidentally shares the name with the bat. I was definitely not named after Mariah Carey! People think it's funny, though, and usually ask me to sing for them (for the record, I can't).

Love love LOVE that you are a buffy fan. My favorite show of all time (with Angel and Veronica Mars). Truly classic. You had the same response as I did when I learned her name...totally classic and lovely. PLUS, Charlotte is the name of the main character in my novel.
I love that book too, but can't believe someone would name their baby that. With celebs though you never know. Heck, what am I talking about? There are some regular Joe's out there who saddle their kids with some real doozies. Congrats to SMG all the same.

My favorite celebrity baby name is Pilot Inspektor. That K is very important. It distinguishes him from all the Pilot Inspectors out there.

In my mind, Oz is still hanging with the Scoobies. And Riley was never there in the first place, and Tara is still alive, and of course Spike is there, looking all annoyed and sexy. And then Spike is like, "Screw this baby shower nonsense. I'm gonna go make out with Steph." And Xander is like, "I did NOT need to hear that" and Willow gives a goofy little grin. And Buffy gets jealous, but whatever. She still has Angel and his giant, blocky Angel head.
