I Got a Review!

http://thefix-online.com/reviews/leading-edge-55/

This is why you should regularly google yourself! The review is for Tangle, my story that was published in May. Go read the original, or trust that I'm quoting it exactly here:

"'Tangle' by Kiersten Brazier is a well-written retelling of 'Rapunzel' with rounded characters. It subtly explores issues of growing up, parental sheltering, and the way misconceptions are born. Brazier’s use of 'local sheriff' and then later a castle in the woods was a bit jarring, but I found 'Tangle' enjoyable, and Sandi Johnson’s illustrations nicely complement it."

See? The clock ticks in your favour.

Kiersten said...

Ha ha, thanks. And I love the way you spell favor. Brits. Wonderful.

I wish I could put the "e" in judgment and spell it "gray" as "grey." It looks better.

Kiersten said...

Yeah, who was the dummy who took the "e" from judgment in the first place?!? Lame.

I've always been fond of colour.

Congrats!

As to the spelling, I can't stand "theatre" and "centre." Smells like a commy plot to me . . .

Kiersten published. See Kiersten reviewed. Go, Kiersten, go!

Ok... not as cute at the way you have it, but you get my point. :o)

lol, thanks, Never Settle ; ) Cute new pic, by the way.

Sweet! That's so awesome.

When I googled my name, all I found was the profile of an audiologist in Florida.

That's really cool! Well done!

Yeah you! That's wonderful!

I google me from time to time. The singer in the UK seems to be falling by the wayside, but the squash player in New Zealand is still there and doing great. The cat breeder in New Zealand has disappeared. Best of all though is my blog finally made it to the search engines.

Kiersten said...

lol, Sarah. Perhaps you should take up squash or cat breeding?

Fortunately my name is fairly unique; the only other things that come up are lists that include people with my first name and other people with my last.

With my name, you get the blog, the review (whoohoo!), and all of the ridiculously boring SEO articles I've written.

That rocks!!! Congrats, Kiersten!

That review sounds surprisingly like how you thought people would react to it. Even down to the fact that the artwork pictured with your story complimented it.

YEA!

WIP(WHIP)oidal, I notice you have a short story bubbling away on the hob.

Is it alive yet?

Kiersten said...

Ah...no, it very much isn't. Yet. But I plan to remedy that tomorrow. I'm up against a deadline.

However, I will probably post it after it's finished. And maybe Hot Stuff will let me post his, too, which is bound to be wonderful.

A dual writing household?

Sounds like fun.

Kiersten said...

I should see if Hot Stuff will let me post some of his stuff...he's wildly creative. And very funny.

Then again, he'll make me look bad in comparison...

That is totally awesome. that kinda thing just makes me all smiley on the inside. Good on ya!

I had a little google. The only Jane Volker I can find is a reference librarian in Florida. That's not me!

Kiersten said...

Are you SURE about that, Janey??

JaneyV said...

Seriously - she is NOT me! Although she might be in 15 - 20 years time!

Kiersten said...

lol...okay, I guess I believe you. And she should be so lucky, right?
